Energy in Adversity

This artwork is a meditation on sanctuary. It explores resilience not as the absence of hardship, but as something cultivated within it. Dogwoods represent love that persists despite adversity. Chamomile speaks to the quiet energy- an inner strength that continues to build within the self. Queen Anne’s lace spreads an intricate structure creating a sense of refuge. An intentional network of care and boundaries. Eucalyptus surrounds the bouquet as a protection both physical and emotional with the idea that safety is actively guarded. Asphodel is traditionally associated with regret and remembrance, it lingers as a reminder that sanctuary often coexists with loss and reflection. It acknowledges what has been left behind and growth continues. This painting is about surviving adversity with love intact—protected, energized, and held within sanctuary, while still honoring the complexities of regret. The work invites the viewer to consider how healing is rarely simple, but deeply human.
