This portrait is of my Mother-in-Law. The flowers symbolize different character traits. Dogwoods are a symbol of overcoming adversity, the Pink Rose is love, the Crocus is playfulness, the Magnolia is dignity, the Orange Blossom is eternal love, Sweet Peas mean thank you, Wild Tea Rose for her wild heart, (She told me once that she wanted to be a Flamenco dancer) California poppies are her favorite flowers, Olives means peace and Forget-Me-Not mean to never forget her.
